Scriptures On Marriage

When a husband prays for his wife, he opens the gates of heaven and carries her over the threshold, directly into the throne room of God. When a husband prays for his wife, he prays for himself, since they are one. When a husband prays for his wife, he lays himself down in order to raise her up. The question is, will he pray?

Oswald Chambers once said, “We tend to use prayer as a last resort, but God wants it to be our first line of defense. We pray when there’s nothing else we can do, but God wants us to pray before we do anything at all.”

What would our marriages look like and experience if we committed to a habit of prayer, surrendering to the Lord before any storm, listening to Him and letting Him lead us day in and day out, with our eyes set on Him?

Growing up in the church, we have all heard this idea of “our calling.” Many times, this refers to what God has called us to individually. Many people think they have a calling, or wonder if they do. might question: Am I a missionary? Am I going to be starting a church? Am I going to be a pastor? Am I going to be a worship leader? There are all these finite things that people may feel called to. However, when it comes to our marriage, do we believe our marriage has a calling? We believe that there are six callings that every Christian marriage has.

Humility. Humbleness.

What comes to mind when you hear these words? For some, the answer may feel like it has to be humiliation, or failure.

For other people the word meekness (softness of temper, gentleness, mildness, and submissiveness) may come to mind. The actual definition of humility is modesty in behavior, attitude, or spirit.
