Humility. Humbleness.
What comes to mind when you hear these words? For some, the answer may feel like it has to be humiliation, or failure.
For other people the word meekness (softness of temper, gentleness, mildness, and submissiveness) may come to mind. The actual definition of humility is modesty in behavior, attitude, or spirit.
Being an always learner means we are teachable and humble. It is realizing we always have room to grow, and actively seeking more knowledge. When we invest into ourselves and grow and learn in this way, it will benefit us for a lifetime.
“With great power comes great responsibility.”
As Stan Lee has said: “A… definition of a hero is someone who is concerned about other people’s well-being, and will go out of his or her way to help them—even if there is no chance of a reward. That person who helps others simply because it should or must be done, and because it is the right thing to do, is indeed, without a doubt, a real superhero.”
These are the true people with power and responsibility, who have the potential to be someone’s hero. We are talking about older men and women who have more life experience, are full of knowledge and wisdom, and most importantly, love God and have been walking with Him longer than us.
It has been said that the Jesus movement of the 60s-70s was the greatest spiritual awakening America has ever seen.
What was so impactful about the movement…and… do we believe it can happen again?
Is the word love and how we use it….diluted?
The definition of the word love as we use it today does generally cover a variety of connotations; from intense feelings of deep affection, to great interest or pleasure. The problem with this definition of love is when those chemicals subside, and those feelings in the body or the flesh become harder to come by, what are we left with?
