I was reading Hebrews 12 yesterday…and when I read verse 4 my heart sank. It was one of those moments where you feel like you have never read that verse before and God’s power strikes you to the core!
“In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood.” – Hebrews 12:4
I re-read it a few times and then proceeded to share it with my husband. I realized that we all struggle with sin, but how many of us resist it to the point of bloodshed. We don’t need to ask what that looks like because Jesus showed us! He leads by giving us examples and when it comes to sin, we must not regard it lightly. We need to resist sin at all cost, even to the point of bloodshed. Resist even through the hurt and the pain.
We have to stop ignoring and avoiding it, we need to stop pretending that its not that bad, we need to stop justifying it to make us feel better, we need to SAY NO MORE! We need to stand with the authority of Christ and RESIST SIN…ALL SIN!
It’s always good to be reminded to resist the sin in our lives that is keeping us down and entangled. We need to “Fight The Good Fight in Faith!” So put on the Armor of God daily and fight against that which Christ died and rose again for… YOU because you are worthy:)
