One Mans View On The 5 Purposes Of Marriage?

There is currently a war going on in our world over the definition of marriage and who gets to define it. But not many are discussing or even questioning the purpose of marriage. The purpose of marriage is not to make you happy or less lonely. It’s not for the tax benefits or shared income benefits. All of these things are good, but only byproducts of a healthy marriage.
Do you know the purpose of your marriage?
Have you ever thought about it before? You would be wise to put some very serious thought into this simple question. I believe that my marriage has deep spiritual purpose to it, as does yours. God created marriage with intentionality and purpose.

Here are the first 4 purposes John Mark Comer talks about:

  1. Friendship
  2. Gardening (He explains in the video)
  3. Sexuality
  4. Family!
  5. You’ll have to watch the video to get the 5th purpose. Believe me, it’s the most powerful purpose of all!

What are you thoughts on the purposes that he states?
Are there any other Biblical purposes that he forgot?
