Postpartum, like any trying season of marriage, is a season not a lot of people talk about, yet it can be one of the most strenuous. That season after having a baby, whether it is your first or your fifth, looks different in every marriage. Sometimes things go smoothly, sometimes they are rough. Sometimes healing is quick and sometimes it requires more time. Growing up in mega churches in California…we never thought we would be a part of a homechurch. Not because we were against it, but because it wasn’t on our radar. It wasn’t familiar to us at all. Since moving to Central Oregon, we have been a part of a homechurch and it has been quite an amazing experience. In this episode we chat about our experience in a homechurch and we give some insight on what we do! Intimacy in marriage, specifically sexual intimacy, right up there with finances are the two biggest contributors to conflict in marriage. Unmet expectations, sin, insecurities, it all disrupts unity in marriage leading to a difficult environment to experience intimacy. We struggled with sexual intimacy for the first four years of our marriage. If you don’t know this already, I share about our marriage hardships and how God saved us in my book The Unveiled Wife. Thankfulness is one of those we may not think about every day, at least until the season of Thanksgiving reminds us, but thankfulness impacts our lives and our marriages. We often forget the spiritual impact of Thanksgiving has in our lives. It is an important principle that God tells us is necessary. In this episode of Marriage After God we explore God’s Word on the matter of thanksgiving and we talk about why it’s important to be thankful in marriage.
