Do you realize that Jesus Christ is inside of you, empowering you to live a righteous life? He is changing you and transforming you from the inside out.
Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test! – 2 Corinthians 13:5-11
Although I have been a Christian for most of my life, I struggled with pornography for a most of it. I wondered…
How can a person truly walk in purity?
I believed I would always struggle with my sin. I believed I couldn’t walk in freedom. But that is not the truth. The truth is that Jesus, who was pure, tempted as we are tempted yet did not sin, lives inside of me, empowering me to choose purity and choose righteousness. It is because of Jesus that you and I can live in victory over sin!
Do you realize this?
The same Jesus we read about in the Bible. The same one who died on a cross and was raised from the dead, He will empower us…if we choose to let Him.
Let us stop making excuses for why we believe we will always struggle with our sins. Let us be men who choose to allow God to transform us, choose to walk in the Spirit, choose to walk in victory and freedom, and choose to lead our wives and families in the same manner.
God has given us EVERYTHING we need to live a righteous life. It is up to us to believe His Word as truth and live according to it.
His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire. For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 2 Peter 1:3-8
