MARRIAGE AFTER GOD

Letter To My Husband: I Am Sorry

Dear Husband,

I pray to God every day that He blesses you for continuing to forgive me for hurting you. I wish I could take away all the negative that I’ve done in your life. I’ve loved you since the moment I saw you. I wanted you to be mine the first time I laid my eyes on you. I fell so deeply in love with you. When I asked you today how you felt when I had my first affair and left you, you told me that after you were angry, you had a complete and overwhelming feeling of defeat and failure. That tore up my heart. I did that to you. I made you feel like a failure. I am so sorry. I can’t ever say that enough. I am sorry. You are not a failure. You are strong. If anything, you are a success. You have stayed with an adulterous woman. You had every right to leave me in my sin, yet you stayed time after time. You love me when I am unlovable. You guide me in Christ when I’ve lost my way. Your devotion to love me as Christ loves the church is immense. You didn’t have to. You could’ve wiped your hands of me. But you told me, I love you. You believe in me. You believe that God put us together for a reason. You believe that even though I am a broken and sinful woman that Jesus could heal my heart and make me whole again. Thank you for always being there for me. Thank you for forgiving me over and over. Thank you for showing me grace and mercy when I am so undeserving. I respect you for staying with me. I respect you for showing me God’s love. I will spend every day loving Jesus and loving you and our family to the best of my ability.

Love, Megan
