Dear Enduring One,

I see you there with your hair pulled into a ponytail and some makeup splashed on your face to hide your pale cheeks. I see your dry, chapped hands rubbed raw from clenching them often. I can see the worry in your eyes because I’ve seen that look in my own mirror.

How I wish I could help you see, this too, shall pass.

No matter what the doctors prescribe or nurses say you know only God knows the answers.

Would it help if I told you that relying on Jesus to walk with you means that He can also carry you? But you have to ask him first. You have to believe that he will carry you.

As women we are taught to be strong and mighty, to roar like a lion.

Right now you want to be a turtle… and dart into your shell… and stay there.

Yet, deep down, you know you do have to be strong for your family. Everyone needs you, depends on you.

They are looking to you to set the tone of the conversation.

Phillipians 4:6 tells us to not be anxious for anything, in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, presents your requests to God!

Heller Keller once said,

Joy is the holy fire that keeps our purpose warm and our intelligence aglow.

You have a purpose and a reason for being, even now, even in what may seem a dark hour. Turn to Jesus and let him carry you. Turn to God and pray for comfort and healing.

Recall that Psalm 40:2 tell us, “He brought me up out of the it of destruction, out of the miry clay, and He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm.” He will hear you and comfort you. He will carry you through this.

Rely on Jesus, don’t just walk next to him, and allow him to carry you.

Your friend,
